Hardtop headliner sagging

My headliner on my hardtop is sagging. Can i use twist pins to temporarily secure it or is there just metal behind it ?

Can anyone recommend anyone to redo the headlining in the Kent area please ?

Thirdly, can the existing headlining be re-used or is it best to use new fabric ?

For my coupe and most other BMW, once the headliner sags it need to be completely replaced because whatever martial that held the liner has most likely dried up and turned it dust. Any good auto upholstery shop should be able to redo it using a fabric of your choice (e.g. OEM, alcantara, etc.). In the rare case color or fabric match is issue, you can ask them to do the pillars as well to ensure perfect match.

Here’s mine before & after from my coupe. Total cost was $250.

Just revisiting this. I'm not in a position to get it re-upholstered at the minute or remove the hardtop. I thought I would be able to use some masking tape to temporarily hold it in place but there is no where to stick it too and the tape just sags :rofl:too.

I've been driving it with the headlining touching me head like a wedding Veil.

Can't use twist pins as I'm fairly sure it is the bare metal roof behind the headlining from giving it a ping (no foam).

Would adhesive spray work by soaking through the fabric and sticking it to the metal ?
