Handbrake shoes

Anyone changed the handbrake shoes on an MC? Dont think mine need changing but want to check at some point and clear out any debris that may have collected, making the imfamous wet-shoe-stick worse.

I haven't but have cleaned them out a few times nice and easy job. At low speed I sometimes bring the car to a gentle stop with handbrake to keep optimum operation.

Cheers Beedub. I do the handbrake on and rolling trick after washing but have a feeling there's a fair amount of crap rolling around in those top hats. Are they easy to get into then?

Easy job, but a pita adjusting the drums off and then back to correct setting, working through just a bolt sized hole.

I did mine when i had the discs off. How do you do it without doing that?

Just done mine on my 3.0l not an //M obviously cant see it being much different. Its a easy job but as above fiddly getting them adjusted allow a bit longer than you think. Time to walk away and make a cuppa when it get frustrating!!
