Ok I have just about had enough of my Z !

Collected it today from the garage after picking up a £1500 bill for:-

New Roof Hinges/ Rams (motor was replaced by a jaguar garage just before I bought it last July)
All roof hydraulic lines replaced
New Drivers door membrane
Replaced rubber trim on roll over hoops
Replace plastic facing trim on roll over hoops

Got the car home parked her on the drive went to put the hood up and nothing !!!!!!!!

Took her straight back to the garage (who I have to say have been brilliant having had the roof out now three times correcting the balls up a jaguar garage made of it and only charged me once) who sorted it in about 15mins and were very apologetic.

Drove her home again and then up pops the amber DSC / Brake warning light - I was so pissed off you would not believe -

Drives into work (I work evenings) and park her up !

Finish work climb into her to come home and the DSC / Brake warning light has disappeared ?????????

Hallelujah !!!!!!

Drop the roof and it all works perfectly windows return to the up position at the end of the cycle and off we go brilliant.... Engine sounds great wind rushing over my bald spot and then just as I pass the local reservoir I look down and the roof button warning light is flashing red !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You all have no idea how tempted I was to drive the fu*ker straight into the reservoir !!!!!!!

Please help me - should I move on and buy anything with 4 wheels that works !!!!!

Problem is I love the car just had the new wheels and it's only done 56k on a 54 plate........

Everybody tells me to ride the storm and stick with it ?

EVERYBODY ALSO TELLS ME THAT THESE BMW's ARE BULLET PROOF..... Believe me you have no idea how close I am to buying a gun and testing that theory !!!!!

:headbang: :( :headbang: :( :headbang: :( :headbang: :( :headbang:

friday 13th
You'll miss with the gun, just not manufactured to BMW spec
sorry lad! :D

Mr B , you need to find a clued up indy who know,s BMW,s inside out & then your faith may be restored , if they give you the thumb,s down then move it on ,
It,s more than likely routine to them but feel,s like the weight of the world to you
Stick with it mate

Almost certainly one of the sensors attached to the brake master cylinder, anyone with a diagnostic computer, dealer or indy, can read the code to establish which one and its a small job and not too expensive to do. The warning light will come back and go again a few times until its fixed

Normal part of the roof lowering/raising, it just means the cycle haddent completed. If the room isnt quite completely down the flashing red light means that you just have to hold the button down a little longer.

So dont get your knickers in a knot and enjoy the car!!

Mr B your luck must change sometime soon there can't be much left to go wrong.

Do a little search I'm sure over the last couple of weeks I've read on here about a good Indi in Stockport.

I am using Darren Wood In Stockport I have no probs with the garage - they had the roof out three times over about five days even they were at their whits end and only charged my £300 labour for everything they had done...... very reasonable and they too were genuinely disappointed for me !

Will keep you posted - watch this space ! :)
