Guess what a dealer just offered me....

Ive just been on with a dealer, wont say which one, but its up North.

Ive seen a 10/10 Z4 35iS for £25,995 showing 21k miles, blue with cream leather, nice looking car, so thought id see if they could make the numbers work enough to tempt me.

Guess what theyve offered for my 10/10 SDrive 23i M-Sport Manual black with red leather, 28k miles, unmarked, bluetooth, connectivity, auto lights/wipers, and 13 mths MOT - Very clean no damage what so ever, gleeming example that they could put stright on the forecourt.

Have a few guesses and then ill reveal all - but surfice it to say, I wont be proceeding with the purchase!

I'd throw a guess in at around 13K. This time of year and convertibles. Its not a good time of year to get a good price. Best to leave it until late spring.

I've seen £15.5k from a dealer so I'd guess a tad over £13k, or possibly a tad less :)

Andi.

Not far off, offered me £14,000, glass book value for January adjusted for mileage is £16,850. Have told them im insulted by their price given that my car is ready for them to retail and requires no spend. Fair enough they havnt seen it but £2850 behind book?

Plus if it were my dealership, id rather have a 23i on the forecourt rather than a 35iS which has a limited market due to running costs/tax ect

I would have said £15K....
They would have to do all the checks before they can sell it and offer a warranty and that costs money, plus they are a business not a charity!
Plus it's the old 2.3i :poke:

True, wasnt really looking, just saw the 35is on AUC and took a fancy to it - im happy with my current car but thought there might have been a deal to be had. Theyve probably done me a favour because im pretty sure id loose my licence with 360bhp under my right foot!

You should try trading in a 10/10 Z4 35iS with 21k miles......

A car trader tries to make money off of you.... that's what they do to feed their kids

It's a cost to change issue, nothing to do with your price or their price. The numbers that appear on the paperwork may not be what you discussed either. I'm guessing you want to add something like £6.5 - £7K to the value of your car and take theirs?

If it hasn't sold in a couple of weeks, go back at the end of the month. There will be a deal to be done.
