Group buy on M engine oil

Hi all,

As I am awaiting collection I have been contemplating buying oil etc to have in my garage.

10W-60 is what we need.

I have done group buys before with Opie and am happy to arrange another. Payment etc will be to Opie Direct I just need figures to negotiate with.

Can people please register interest? - Mods this was posted here to gain maximum visibility.

This is the oil for reference: http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-715-castrol-edge-10w-60-for-special-bmw-m-series-engines.aspx

Thanks,

Jack

I've already taken advantage of Simon & Guy's service - and have done over the last 6 years.

Unfortunately as these cars don't use anywhere near the amount of oil my old M5 used to, I can't see me needing any more than the 8 litres I've got at the moment (and that's after I've just done an interim oil service).

BTW, you do know that while the member's prices are excellent value and you can get 2x4L of 10w60 for ///Ms for £75 (plus delivery), you can also get the same amount of oil plus a filter in one of their 'service kits' for £65.

I'd still be interested in seeing the prices though for a group buy as I might take the opportunity to stock up with 4 year's worth (probably only 20L) :P

Is it easy to change the oil on a Z4MR?(ie nothing complicated to remove underneath to get at the drain plug?) If so I'd definitely be up for it as I'm planning on doing my own oil change in between the official ones done as part of the service.

In fact,I'm probably keen either way as I gather it's a good way to get the service cheaper.

Will BMW garages let you supply your own oil, and discount accordingly?

When I had my 350Z I looked into supplying my own oil, but the garage would only knock a paltry amount off the service and not the true cost of the oil. So it would have ended up costing me more :(
