OK - I actually feel sorry for the dealer I sold my Z4 to - Cooper TW paid me £15,300 for my 56 plate, 27K miles 3.0Si a couple of months ago. They initially out it on at £18,490 - which I thought was a little high but left room for haggling.
It has come down every few weeks and is now sitting at £14,900 (ish) - so a fair bit less than they paid me for it. Now - to be fair I didn't get a great deal on the car I bought, but they had to buy it in from a different BMW franchise, so they didn't have much margin to play with.
Maybe that's just where the market is now - it's winter, the car had a decent basic spec, but it was at the basic end of the spec range, and I think for the Z4 it's not in the best colour (silver). Great car though - was in rude health - feel like buying it back now!
