Why would you need this?

Unless you use the car everyday, you kill the battery if you don't keep a tender on it.

My first Z had a new battery (under warranty) after 2 years. Never needed again after I got CTEKs for all cars.

I only use my car on average a couple times a week sometimes three. There's been times when it's at least a week between drives, called dealer today and he said the battery will be fine with no damage.
Other main cars I've owned have always had the same treatment with no battery problems :)

Modern batteries don't like being in a low state of charge and once allowed to go flat can be damaged. I've go no choice but to use a battery condtioner as I don't use the Z4 for 5 months of the year and the Z3 for 7 so I would eating through a fair few batteries. Wouldn't be without my CTEK and alot cheaper to buy than a replacement battery, especially from Porsche lol. The battery on the Z3 is 13 years old and as good as new :)

Tim.

But for mine it is sometimes more like 2 months between drives, that is just too much.

Well yes that's totally different, you'd have a flat battery just after a month I was told when I called before
