Got myself a neat little addon

My rear view mirror Sat Nav isn't always reliable so I'm often left trying to find a location with phone between legs. I know there are so many options out there for phone holders and I'm sure this topic has arisen many times now, but I wanted something dash mounted that didn't look too out of place. I've seen the little vent addons and ball rotating thingamajigs, but I went with something a little bigger than planned and I'm quite pleased with it. It won't be to everyone's taste, but it comes in pretty handy.

I use it to hold my glasses:

And it's even handy for your change as you're pulling out of McDonald's drive through:

And I think it works fairly well with the dash:

It comes on a non-slip mat and hasn't budged as yet but I think I'll secure it down with some double sided tape to have it fitting flush. Or I could just whip it out when needed, but I like it with the glasses in place.

Handy, I have the same problem, phone between the legs, I expect my sperm count is zero now
Have you driven about with it just resting on the dash without tape holding it down? Will it stay in place just sitting there when you hit the corners?

I just took it for a test drive and generally it stayed in place, it wobbled a little bit on the bumps but I don't have any suspension so every road is a bumpy road to me. Corners are fine, didn't have an issue there. But... If you use the mini roundabout as a hairpin bend (purely for test purposes) it does fly off the dash.

I'd recommend some 3M double sided tape, the thin stuff, that's what I'll be doing.

Thanks for the field test results, there's a mini roundabout outside Sainsburys, I'll give that one a go

That's so meet. I have to ask is that dashboard, carbon effect extended leather? It's stunning. Was it standard or have you had it done?
Cracking interior bud

Thanks mate!

Yeah the dash is Carbon effect leather, it was an OEM option but it didn't come with my Zed. I got a really good deal on German eBay and the rest of the interior has been built up over time. The door cards and gaiters are also carbon effect leather although not OEM.

I was never a fan of carbon fiber in the past, I thought it was a bit chavvy... but I know a guy who works with carbon and once I started with it I just kept going and I'm really happy with how it turned out.
