Got my new Z4MC

I'm completely ignorant about the Intravee, I'd never heard of it before looking for my Z4MC. Will it connect to a Samsung as well? Can you put maps through it? What do you mean by multiple indicator flashes?

Sorry for all the dumb questions!

E85/E86 doesn't have the one-touch multiple flashes that modern indicators do. The Intravee gets around that so a single touch will give up to 5 flashes. It won't connect to a Samsung unfortunately, but you can use an old iPod as music storage for the car. They were originally bought from this site, but many are now second hand or (as in your case) stay with the car - they are worth around £180 if you extract and sell as a secondhand working unit (together with the Alpine KCA-420i that you'll also have), so hold their value well.

The Intravee translates Alpine's AI-Net protocol into the BMW iBus, so it allows for connection to other Alpine products, such as the KCA-420i iPod interface. This means you can browse artists, albums, playlists, etc. from your iPod directly on the head unit (or Nav unit, if you have that) so you don't need to touch the iPod and can leave it in the trunk, out of the way.

There's an in-depth thread on the M3 forum here, with manuals etc.

Sounds like a great piece of kit! I'll have to start playing with it

Fantastic car. Got one myself about a year ago. Same classic colours silver grey metallic and imola red interior. Puts a smile on my face every time I start that S54 engine.

Hi,

I finally bought my Z4MC. I went for one from Russell Knight who I can't recommend enough. The car is in stunning condition and Russell was a pleasure to deal with. I'll get my own photo's up soon but here's a link to the advert;

I also purchase my MC from Russell. Didn't you find it refreshing that you were buying a car from someone that actually knows what they are selling. The guy has so much knowledge about these cars and everything was perfect start to finish.

Enjoy the car buddy, looks stunning

I had mine programmes at BMW one touch will flash the standard 3 times on the E85/86. Lots of options can be programmed to the car and the key.

I thought that re-coding for multi-flash was only available on facelift cars, Tom?

Cheers mate!

Russell even volunteered unbiased advice to me on other cars on the market before I bought mine from him. Very refreshing from a car dealer! I know Russell may charge a premium for his cars but in my experience you can't go wrong with him. My car, at least, is stunning and I can't fault it.

That's a proper little stunner. The engine is rather addictive, you have been warned.

Yep, that sounds like good ol' Russell!

Yeah I think I paid at least an extra 1k on the car from Russell than if I bought elsewhere but I didn't care because it was well worth it for that peace of mind knowing the car had been inspected by himself.

You will have soooo much fun :driving:

Lovely M Coupe you have there OP!

I'm not a fan of silver, but the red interior works really well!

And I do like a Coupe!!

Keep enjoying it!

Very nice, best colour combo 8) Hope you enjoy it.

Not for me - I had a silver E87 for over 6 years before I bought an E86, and much prefer my current colour combo!

Yeah, colour is subjective. I've always liked blue cars in general but wasn't sure on a Z4MC. I also fancied getting a black one initially, but I can honestly say I'm delighted with silver/grey and I love the red leather.

But ultimately, the Z4MC is such a stunning car it probably looks stunning in any combination :D
