As above finally got myself back into a Z4 coupe, always missed my SE but managed to get a sport this time and really like it in I believe carbon black the one that looks blue in the sun? Anyway it has come with a low mileage set of rotalla tyres on unfortunately. I am on the hunt for a set of tyres for the coupe unfortunately cannot afford to get new right now so if anyone is considering trying another tyre on their coupe and has a full set going please give me a shout obviously a decent set.

Also any different sizes other than 255/35/18 And 225/40/18 that work ok in anyone’s experience?

Cheers

Carl

Hi Carl, welcome back to Coupe ownership - they do seem to be addictive!

Carbon Black looks great in good light, and now you have a Sport you'll get to enjoy the M-Sport seats.

Good luck with the tyre hunt.

245 40 18 on rears is a good option all round , never really changed the fronts on 8.5j from 225 40 18 unless its to avoid liner rub with a lowered car though no reason why 215 40 18 work

Cheers buddy bit naff I’m hunting tyres but I can’t see the rotallas been worth the risk

I know the Rotallas are not a premium brand, but if they're new you may find they perform as well as 5 year old part-worn premium tyres.

Worth driving on them a bit to make sure you're not throwing away cash.

For a while I had a set of Interstate XL tyres on my e34 M5 (part of a Pistonheads/Blackcircles tyre test) and they were great for the first 6 months or so (or until about half the tread depth was used) - then they seemed to switch to a rock hard compound to help longevity, but it just made them very slippy...which was fun in the right conditions, but not when you're hitting 150mph on high speed bends on the autobahn.

Ha ha yes I’ll have to stick with them at the minute anyway

Am a bit on edge as I sold my brilliant tt despite cat d fantastic in every respect so getting a different car is a risk and I might regret it but life is short and unpredictable

You really shouldn't be missing your TT there horrible looking things  especially compared to the Z4 coupe!
Never liked TT's and when the R8 came out, which I love and think looks beautiful and is the only Audi I really would like to own in the near future, it made the TT look even more wrong. Good luck with the coupe, if you sell in the future give me a shout I maybe interested
