GoPro Subscription

Last April I bought a GoPro Max with the GoPro Subscription.

Basically online storage along with two no questions asked replacements if you damage the camera per year.

Had the camera out on the mountain bike a few times and hill walking a couple of times.

360 degree video, horizon levelling, time lapse, time warp. Awesome piece of technology.

Had the camera out for a day over to Loch Lomond and dropped it on some concrete which scratched a lens.

Call GoPro, organised a courier, emails received with all the info.

GoPro sent back a week ago and new GoPro received today.

£49 for the subscription well spent!

[ref]skelters[/ref], I was looking to get a GoPro for the car, particularly for forum runs and the Pyrenees trip but wasn’t sure which one to buy. Was there any specific reason you chose this one?

Good feedback on the subscription and would likely be something I’d take. I’ve just looked on their website and this camera, with subscription is on sale

That's the one I have. Was cheaper to buy the camera with the subscription than buy the camera without it for some reason.

If you're over in Inverclyde give me a shout and you can see the camera.

Chose the MAX as I wanted the 360 degree for hill walking and on the mountain bike. Will use it in the car eventually.

The horizon levelling thing is pretty incredible and have taken video on the mountain bike with a Hero 4 and the MAX. Doesn't matter how bumpy anything is as it sorts it all out.

Battery life is ok. Did buy a spare battery and might get another. Battery life depends on the video quality you record.

It does the disappearing selfie stick thing.

Software is ok. GoPro Quik. Can upload to the GoPro cloud storage.

Plenty of options for mounts inside or outside a car. You could probably get a decent long stick for in the Supra convertible and film that boat like back end from above!

Can also set the camera up via your phone, record via the phone or use a remote.

It was a big jump from the Hero 4 Black Edition to this one and it shoes in the video quality.

Now, now, now [ref]skelters[/ref], no need for the Supra comment

A few more questions if you don’t mind.

Is the main bonus of the Max over the 10 the 360 degrees and the advanced stabilisation?

I had a look at the mounts on the GoPro site and specifically for the Max they seemed pretty limited. Do the other mounts work with the Max or would I need to buy specific mounts elsewhere?

The MAX pretty much does everything the Hero does and then does the 360 degree camera thing too.

It's compatible with the majority of GoPro mounts. I use a GoPro Hero mount on the mountain bike.

There's two flaps under the camera that come out to attach it to any mount with a GoPro thumb screw thing.
