Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 or 5

So I'd made my mind up on which tyres to get:

Front
Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 225/40/18 Y92

Rear
2x Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 255/35/18 Y94

Priced them up on black circles and then went to Kwik Fit and they beat the price!

They phoned just now to say they cant get 3's for the fronts, only 5's and they cant get 5's for the rear, only 3's

So my question is this: Does it matter to have the different models? I like the same tyre on each wheel, so would I be better with the original choice from black circles? I know the 5 is an upgrade to the 3 but what would you do? I guess the next time I came to replace the rears I could catch up then.

MY opinion is if quikfit can beat the price anybody can, black circles is not cheap by any standards you didnt say what price they offered - on a technical aspect they will have different characteristics, others on here who have eagle f1's will tell you that - but i would take my wallet elsewhere - and buy what you actually want :D

both are supplied by mytyres - used them before - quick and cheap and fast delivery usually 48hours

I replaced all my tyres with Goodyear Eagle F1's, I bought the backs from National and the fronts from Kwik-Fit (both branches situated on the same road - 5 mins apart). Yeah I had a little bit more messing about but I got the best deal at the time.

Just about to press the button on uniroyal rainsport 3s 225 40 18 and 255 35 18 £317 so £330 odd delivered from camskil out of interest what are the Goodyear setting you back

The Asymmetric 5 and F1 Supersport are so new that even the Goodyear website doesn't have the tyre labelling available to show you the ratings, or the list of available sizes.

Oponeo is showing both fronts & rears available in the 3.

The original black-circles price was £433.70 (included fitting). This included a £25 discount.

Kwik-Fit prices:
Asymetric 3 Front 225/40R18 92Y XL = £151.20 (£75.60 each)
Asymetric 3 Rear 255/35R18 94Y XL = 237.60 (£118.80 each)
PLUS fitting/balance/valve/disposal = £59.96 (£14.99 each)
Total £448.76

Then they changed the fronts to Asymetric 5, and it went up to £502.76 but they didn't break that down for me.

Update: Just checked black circles again and they have a flash sale of 10%, so fitted price (all Asymetric 3) is now £417.26 fitted - so I've booked them to be fitted on Saturday.

Just priced my tyres on camskill and they come out at £387.50 delivered. So that's £30 cheaper, but mine are going direct to the garage and includes fitting. I cant see on camskill if you can get them delivered to a garage or if fitting is included? If not, then that would be a problem being at home for delivery and then getting 4 tyres in the Z4?

Either way, I'm happy with £417.

I think it's all a bit of luck of the draw re prices, they seem to change from week to week!
Just after Christmas I bought 225/40R18's for the front but went for 245/40R18's on the rear as the 255/35R18's were much more expensive. All Asymetric 3's from Black circles delivered for £355 with £25 discount offer & fitted at my local indy for £40. Well happy with that  .

Had my new tyres fitted on Saturday and 4 wheel alignment done on Sunday.

Ride to work seemed smoother on the crap roads, although unusually I was able to avoid most of the holes.

Biggest thing I noticed on the way home was the exhaust sounded louder (noticeable) then I realised there was hardly any road noise.

I still felt bumps etc, but they seemed more cushioned.

Also a marked improvement in rattles! Car feels a bit more “premium” now as it doesn’t rattle every time I drive over some fly sh1t. Still not perfect, but miles better!

Still enjoying the ride.
