Hi,

Has anyone been in previous years and got any tips for the best viewing spots etc?

I'm going Friday & Saturday and really looking forward to it. We went to the Revival at the circuit last year and it was absolutely brilliant! 🥰

Very much hoping for the same at the FoS :)

I went last year. Unless you have paid for a seat in the stands then there are not many good viewing spots.

The start is good line for viewing. A must watch for the F1 cars. The Haas drivers both did immense burnouts last year.

In front of the main house is a large grass area. Unless your 6ft 5"+ no matter where you stand you won't see much.

Basically you need to be right against the straw bale barriers. If you're more than 3 people back then you won't see a lot.

I managed to stand on the goodwood hospitality platform deck for about an hour before I was kicked off. It was a great viewing spot.

The area where they display the cars before they go out, you'll need to camp a spot when it's quiet. It gets immensely busy very quickly.

You'll see lots of famous people/drivers.

It's very very dusty. Don't wear anything precious and if your car is valuable you'll likely get people write on the dust and ruin your paintwork.

I went in 2015 and I don’t remember struggling to get a good view. Perhaps it was less popular than it is now. Standing on the grass just after Molecomb corner gave a good perspective up the hill and a good view of cars getting buried in the hay bales if they didn’t make the corner, but without any risk of being hit by debris!

Most of my photographs were taken with a camera, so I have only a few examples of the view to hand on my phone. These are a couple of stills from a video that shows the view near Molecomb

Up above the flint wall before the forest there's a free Grandstand. Last year I Stood on the top deck watching shootouts and supercars going up the hill, the crazy donut hairpin on the rally course was on my rear right, the off road track was rear left, noise and dust was everywhere then the Red Arrows did their thing right above me, this was all going on at the same time. No drugs were required.

Haha no drugs required :D

That's a great shout about the free grandstand! Thanks

Arguably the hill climb isn’t the best bit. The grass area after Molecomb is good if you want to see it but I would say my favourite spot is at the end point near the rally stage. Here the cars congregate before going back down. Lots of cars put on a show and the drift cars really have to be seen here.
The rally stage is awesome with plenty of spots to watch, also the rally cross/rock crawler area is really good.
Finally get in the pits when the cars are starting up and moving to the holding area, amazing.
I have been about 6 times and cannot wait to go again.
