Goodbye Zedders

It is with much despair that I have to say I sold my Z4. :(

It is a brilliant car but i just didnt have space for it in my workshop as well as my XK, so it has gone to a good home in St Albans.

I had it for two years and was faultless and fun every second i drove it. Even managed to get it abroad for a trip around France.

Good luck zedders and will see you at shows and be smiling at every zed i see, still love em all. :D

Sad to say goodbye, but XK is a phenomenal car. I also own an XKR :)
 
Sad to hear the Zed has gone but stay on the forum. We don't all own Z4s on here and the general knowledge on car related stuff can often be useful.

Could you let me know how is the XKR compared to the Z? I understand they are complete different beasts, but having a Zcoupe (3.0si) for almost two years now, I am looking for more power (gimme that V8! :P ) and a more refine quality ride as this would be my daily.

The rear lights look to have been replaced with the facelift ones, and the boot finisher wrapped or replaced. The exhaust could be different too, spires maybe? Front lights smoked slightly too?

You really can't compare to them, they are two completely different cars. When I get in my Z after the Jag, the Z feels tiny, basic, bumpy, raw and slow. But I got the Z as I wanted a traditional roadster and Z ticks all the boxes. Thats what I like about her. The Jag XK is a gentleman's car...but I think the UK's sleeper muscle car that I've managed to bring out of her. I think they realised this later on the XK's life when they made the XKRS.

The XKR is a true GT cruiser that eats up the miles while you're surrounded in comfort and luxury. Mine been lowered along with anti roll bar treatment but its hardly effected the ride and feels more planted. The power is phenomenal and pushes you back in the seat. For such a big car she really takes off, I think a full second faster than the Z to 60. Mines been chipped, modded supercharger along with air filters and exhaust and think she reaching 60 just over 3 seconds (Standard is 4.4).
I've got spacers on the wheels to fill the arches, RS splitter, mod on the front lights, new style rear lights....and that exhaust really brings out the muscle car side. Wow its a proper American V8 burble sound that barks when pushed. (I also have a Corvette Z06, Jag sounds better than the Corvette!!)

Sorry but that seems ridiculously optimistic, the 4.2 XKR is 4.9 0-62, and the XKRS which has 129bhp more as standard does it in 4.2. Lovely car though, I was considering one a while back.

£30k puts you just in to facelift XKR range, where the engine changed from the 4.2 to the 5.0, 503bhp stock :)

My friend has just bought a 10 plate XKR, the 5.0 model - its bonkers! I've had my M for a couple of weeks now and we're looking forward to taking them both over to France and Germany in a couple of months :driving:

Sorry brain fart moment due to me rushing around while online at the airport travelling, it's because I mentioned my Corvette in the same post. They are my Corvette figures (and standard figures). We managed to get my Z06 Corvette up to just shy of 700 BHP (standard is 505BHP). We're timing a none official 60 of around 3 seconds but that only happened a couple of times due to the rear end not gripping.
