Doesn't bother me, not the most comfortable or practical dd I just can't afford another car :rofl: and driving it all the time does take some of the magic away even with an ///M . If I only drove it every now and again it definitely would feel a bit more special.

Nice thought Lynchy but that's taking it a bit too far :) Not sure my wife would be too happy doing this . As most people find being retired doesn't automatically mean having time on your hands :o

My aim in to increase my mileage to at least 2k a year and keep the car in it's present pristine condition - in 10 years time it will still be under 60k if I'm still above ground :rofl:

Why is mileage such a big issue,what if your not above ground in ten years,keeping your cars mileage low and in pristine condition would count for nothing
 
Had my zed out today for the first time in over a week. Reminded again, as if I needed reminding, how special a car it is 8)

I think we're back where we started - there are two types of car owners (1) those that like to enjoy their cars by using them and don't worry about how many miles they clock up and (2) those that like to keep them pristine and low mileage - I'm with the latter but want to compromise a bit .
 
Gov I wouldn't let it play on your mind too much, just use the Zed as and when :) My Z3 has been under a dustsheet since beginning of March but will be out in a week or so for its MOT, the E89 was off the road all winter nearly 5 months. I love wheeling it out after that time, feels like driving a new car again and still smells new inside after 2 years. Never bothers me at all that theres no mileage being racked up. With the Z3 its lack of use thats kept it mint, like anything, use it, it wears out lol. Its great when I'm filling up the Z3 and I get strangers wandering over giving compliments, thats whats it all about for me :)

That is a really nice car Tim - used to get the same response to my Elan - it was a 91 car but looked almost new ( 58k miles ) - regretted selling it but you do things at the time you think is right.
 
Gov, I don't believe in spending a load of money on a car and letting it sit in a garage. Cars are meant to be driven, not polished and left to sit in a garage. Criminal imo.
Good on ya, get in it and drive it :thumbsup:

Thanks alot, I've come so close to selling the Z3 over the past 12 months but as its only done just over 26k and the condition its in it would be a shame to sell it for what its really worth which is a couple ks. Hence why the Z4 is going instead for something a tad more practical. All I need for the Z3 now is a gloss black hardtop to finish it off :)
