Go 4-wheelin'

ALWAYS check the area/depth before you decide to 4-wheel it!!!

Can you say "dumb ass"?

Turn it off. Drag it out. Dry it off. Drive it home. I had a mud covered engine compartment in my 4Runner once (after running into a 3 foot deep lake at 50 mph on Highway 101 near Santa Barbara one night during the El Nino winter of 1997). After pushing the behemoth to dryer ground and spending 10 minutes drying off the distributor with my sweatshirt, it started up and drove off apparently none the worse for wear (save for the odd smell or two until I got everything clean). I still own the truck at 350K - gotta love those amphibious Toyotas.

It doesn't take much to be stoopid, now does it? He'll need a week and a bunch of Zaino to get that back to show truck state.

Well if you do it in a truck without a snorkel and deep water preparation then you're asking for trouble.

Me - I look for that stuff, all over Europe:

Here in Ireland

and come out the other side, most times...

or perhaps down into the water in Wales...to be a bit more extreme

Nice to know someone know HOW to do it....

Slow Slow Slow.. most times....

Generally yes. The trick in reality is once having picked the line (and that's takes learning) commit to it then the speed is 'as slow as possible, but as fast as required' It's taken me a decade to get to a standard.

Here's one in France where it got more hairy....I managed to drive out of this dry ravine by locking the diffs (front, rear and centre applying all drive to the RHS, using a winch to stop it rolling over. 'Slow, Slow, Slow' is spot on...

Yep, I know the feeling...

I used to have a heavily modified 'Yard Beast'. But I got out of that years ago.... It just got too expensive for me at that time in my life...
I never really got that heavy in to the rock crawling. All the good places around here are about three or four hours of driving distance..

Now I am back into the expensive stuff. BMW=$... But now my wife just laughs, shakes her head and walks back into the house.......
