GM5 Module removed for repair now not starting

I removed the GM5 module from my wife's 03 z4 & sent it off to Scott today for repair, now the car doesn't start. When attempting to start, the lights on the dash come on as normal, but it is as though the starter is disabled. The battery is brand new, & there were no other issues other than central locking issues. From everything that I've read the car is supposed to start & run as normal without the module installed. I've been searching forums, & haven't found anything regarding this no start issue. Any help would be appreciated.

What you have said is my understanding to. When should you get the module back. Might be worth speaking to Scott and see if he has any ideas.

Spoke with him through email last night. He says that he's only heard of this happening one other time, & thinks it might have to do with the car having a SMG transmission. The wife has only had the car a little over a week, so I'm not that familiar with it yet. I'll keep looking, but hope that reinstall will solve this.

Looking at the WDS, there is a connection between the SMG controller and the GM5. The pin out listing says it's for a load cutout. I can't imagine what the GM5 has to do with loads, but it's logical to relate "cutout" to "engine does not run". I'm confident all will be fine once the module comes back. I hope you're not too inconvenienced by this.
