I have an annoying rattle from the glovebox, has anyone else experienced this with their car? When I'm driving, if I lean over and push the top of the glovebox it stops rattliing. I think the rattle is coming from the locking mechanism. Having owned two Zeds before, I know my previous one never had this problem but it was much harder to close the glovebox. In fact it occassionally used to pop open if it wasn't quite shut properly. In my M, the glovebox closes easily, but must have a loser fit when closed hence the rattle.
Anyone else cured this? Car is under warranty but not sure what they will be able to do, other than to try replacing the glovebox and lock. I will have a chat with them when the car goes in for a service. I can't see any way of adjusting the fitment of the glovebox to kind of tighten the fit. Alternatively I might just try attaching something to where the glovebox fits to tighen things up when it's closed (such as using some sticky backed felt material or something).
I'm trying to replace my cupholders with blanks. Local BMW dealer so far have not been able to find the two parts I require. I've had a look on RealOEM.com and all I can find are the covers for the cupholders (label 7 in the appropriate diagram), but this is not the right part as it is just a cover (with cup diagram) to fit to the cupholders. I want to remove the cupholders altogether and just fit blanks. Anyone know or can find the part numbers?
