gloss black grill

as mentioned in general section, I did wrap the chrome bit on my kidney grill, which I received from Inkey$

here is a couple of photos:

my original was black and chrome surround, now it is all black.

posted the how-to that I used in how-to section, just in case anybody else wants to do the same.

they do, had them on my last Black Sapphire, and will be doing again over xmas on the current Black Sapphire.

What about black wrap over chrome, but keep the grey slats. That ever been tried?

not seen it, but try it, only costs a fiver and if it don't look right just remove it again.

Not sure about the black and grey, probably look ok on a grey car, not sure about black.

Mine will be matte when I fit them tomorrow - if I don't like matte do you reckon spraying them with a couple of coats of clear lacquer will shiny them up ?

i am tempted to give this a try... i have 2 sets of kidneys anyway.

I tried wrapping my roll hoops.... ended in a bit of a disaster, and a waste of about 30 minutes of my life!

But i have plenty of vinyl left.... just think on the 3.0 and M with the silver inners on the headlights it would look better with the silver frame around the grills :?

I wouldn't think it will look right, but as srhutch said, try it, if you don't like it, then reverse or even easier, photoshop one and then decide

it is easy when you take your time and don't try to rush it, I made a few errors earlier on but then slowed down and worked it gently.

Only issue is if the lacquer starts to chip off, could start looking messy. I sprayed mine first after rubbing down and using an etching fluid but it still chipped off hence the wrapping option.
