Can anyone recommend a pro detailer in or around Glasgow? Thinking of getting it done as it really makes the car look great. Have never had a car detailed so go easy on me!

CoupeChief,
Hi i know this is an old post but did you find a detailer in glasgow?
I was PM'd the details of a guy in Hamilton but didn't take it any further as decided better to wait till the spring and might be changing the car to a Z4M anyway. I'm guessing you are a detailer?

I am indeed,
Im based just outside glasgow,

You can see some of my work on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001874621306
Website is currently in progress

Coupechief is in my area, im a pro detailer... hes looking for a pro detailer..... wheres the hankering scott?
im an open guy im not going to pressure any client into choosing me to do their detail through pm's if you prefer to do that then fire away but its not my style.
Dont see what relevance your comment has buddy sorry if im missing something....

refineddetailing, welcome!

I'm not on Facebook but would certainly be interested in seeing some of your work. Have often thought about getting the Zed professionally detailed, and since its coming up for 2 years in May that might be a good time. :driving:

Z4 thanks for the warm welcome..... pm me your email and ill send a few pics over to you....
nothing more rewarding that working on a black or dark blue car they always come up with the ultimate shine possible. feel free to pm me or call my mobile any time your free and ill pop out and have a look at the car and advise on what i think it would benefit from.
thanks

cal

There is a place in Stirling , Ultimate Shine Autos, used to work with the guy who 'details" the cars , nice big chap

In fact they are in the process of developing a website http://www.ultimateshineautos.com/ may be worth giving then a ring

I know hes after a pro detailer, just that ive never heard of you and ive been in the trade a good length of time, thats all, ergo why I recomended a friend whom is very well established in the trade for some good few years and is outstadning at what he does.

To be fair scott your based down south and im in scotland... my work speaks for itself, i have done detailing for over 5 years.. the business has only been set up over the last year, i previously only worked part time as a detailer tending for porsches of my dads friends and some of glenvarigill near glasgow .. i was previously working for barclays wealth as an international relationship manager so could only manage the part time work on the detailing side and so only dealt with the porsche clients i have.
and going back to the original comment you made, i took it as a dig and to be honest didnt feel the need for you input it was a pointless comment you made.

Not so much a dig fella, I see it so much on so many forums im on. All of a sudden yet another detailer crops up inthe hope of potential work. I know of one that spams loads of car clubs knowing nothing of the car just posting there work and plugging away yet gets away with it, boils my gravy at times. If youve been in the game 5 years then your doing well no doubt about it. Ive been in the automotive appearance trade just over 16 years and took detailing further in just shy of 3 years ( more so heavy paint correction and wet sanding ). No point in carrying on and clogging this thread up, no hard feelings fella.

No problem scott, appreciated... i have a passion and that has built with my experience and expertise.. i know what you mean about people posting pics of work etc, but to be honest if people are confident they can do a good job and are proud of their own work then why not plug away.. you wouldnt expect a recruitment consultant to sit in the office all day and wait for potential clients to come to him would you...
Im a firm believer that there is "detailers" out there that are no more than glorified valeter's ive seen plenty of write ups with people finishing a correction then washing the car again with the same sponge they washed the car with in the first place... as they say in the trade though "your only as good as your last detail"

all the best to you mate no hard feelings.

Hey, did you have any joy? I'm looking at getting my car detailed in the next month or so but again don't really know of anyone local.

Haven't got round to it myself but other than those who made themselves known above I got one other. See PM.

Jimmy ...

JKP has an excellent rep on Discovery 3 web site .. not used him myself but keep on meaning to give him a call...

John @ JKP has now ceased trading due to health issues. Quite gutted and a loss to detailing in the Scotland area. Thoughts are with him and a speedy recovery for him.
