Hello all! Having already made a number of posts I must say that this forum is definitely friendlier than another that I won't mention. Thank you!
I picked up my 05 Maldives blue 2.5i last October with 18k on the odo. I traded in my 06 Mustang GT on her. The Mustang was fast and fun but a bit of a handful on the twisties with all the understeer. I love driving and the Zed is an amazing piece of work.
Here she is shortly after I picked her up.

And now with the 17" Style 71's and F-1's

Welcome to the Forum!

BTW, the Z can go out to the strip as long as it is properly classed with the other NA 4/6 cylinder cars, may not win, but it always fun :driving:

Welcome to the forum. Maldives Blue is a really beautiful color, I wish it was still available.

Thanks all, I appreciate the warm welcome. This is my first BMW so I'm still learning about her. Lots of great info and helpful folks here! Thank you!

Welcome! I'm just down the road from you, but I really envy all the twisties you have up in that area! I've got to get up there soon. Nice Mustang you had. I just sold my 2002 SVT Lightning and that was a blast but the gas mileage was killing me. I do miss the S/C whine! :D This is my first Bimmer also, and it 's been a blast so far. The Forum is great!

I hear you about the mpg! My 78 F-250 stays parked for the most part! Yeah, I miss the pony sometimes too but not when I'm on the twisties1 In the Mustang club I'm (still) a member of, I would meet the group in Congress and then we would run up 89 covering Yarnell hill and White Spar in Prescott on to Mingus through Jerome on to Sedona for lunch at Red Rock State Park. When done they would take I-17 back to Phx. and I'd come home through Oak Creek Canyon. Great drive! Last time was right after I picked up my Zed and my buddy in the club made the mistake of saying that I should lead so they could follow the "toy" car! Lol! Took them a bit but they did catch up on the straights.
It would be fun to get a few Zeds together and make that run don't you think?

That sounds like a plan. There are a few Zeds, here and I've seen a few from this area posting on the board. Also someone mentioned a Z Club here in Phoenix, but I've yet to check into it. Will keep in touch.

Definitely! The weather's perfect for a cruise!
Here's the link to their web site. http://azbmwz3.com/index.htm
I haven't checked it out other than lurking off and on for a bit. They do have a club policy to always obey traffic laws and regulations which doesn't really fit with enjoying that road (or the Z4) to its fullest.
There are some Zeds here too, mostly Z3 roadsters and a couple of Z3 coupes. No clubs though.
I have noticed that when I wave to another Z4 driver on the road they won't wave back! What's up with that??? :?

I noticed that also. I'm not sure if it's a Bimmer thing or just Arizona. In any event I gave up! 8)
