Gentlemen, check your speedo!

My 35i UK speedometer is calibrated in MPH (with underlying KPH) to a max of 160mph (260kph).
The handbook shows a 'generic' european speedometer calibrated to 280kph.

Thus the mainland European speedo is calibrated for a faster speed.
All Z4s that can achieve it are 'limited' to 155mph (250kph) anyway, so it is academic I know, but WHY? :?

So......to what maximum speed is your speedo calibrated????

PS Ladies...don't get worked up, my comment is not sexist.....along the lines of "gentlemen, start your engines", there were no ladies driving Le Mans cars when that phrase was coined.......

Sorry Mike, but you seem to miss my point :D

It is an 'open' question....."....to what speed is your speedo calibrated????"
I'm not asking whether it's correct or not.

For example, what is it in Hong Kong, Australia, USA, Outer Mongolia etc., etc.,
I'm just curious.....it's not life threatening

It's 22:10 here and I am not getting my camera out to take a picture of something that we are all familiar with - i.e. a speedo

Gawd, I must have been tired  ...sorry Mike.....camera up the spout at the mo....pikkies soon!

The US model tops out at 160MPH, or at least the Speedometer does. I haven't opened mine all the way up yet, as the max speed limit in the States is 75MPH

I think was 'Unlimited' out in Montana but was changed in 2000. I think Texas has some roads posted at 80MPH.. Not sure though..

In West Texas there are a few roads that are posted at 80 MPH. I was out there about 3 years ago.
...and everyone drives 90 to 100... :driving:

I thought the '09 Z4 US versions, at least, were electronically limited to 150 mph.
In 6th... Leave it in 5th

I've heard of it actually doing around 158 even with limiter, but without, you're only looking at like 165 maybe on the autobahn. How much does that matter at that speed?
