"BMW is out to create another vehicle that no one has yet to ask for". And they are coming with 6 Series GT also. I wonder how they do their market research to decide that there is a market for these vehicles. :scratchhead: Could it be that the large influx of baby boomers with a lot of disposable income who are about to retire in the next decade are this target? You would think that their large disposable income has mostly vanished with the stock market downturn.
So if I understand correctly the GT would be for those who want to be seated higher than in a sedan but lower than a SUV so the 5 GT would be between the 5 Touring and the X5/X6. That's splitting hair. On the other hand, a Nissan executive who once said that they would never build an SUV had to retract himself and admit that they decided to build the Murano because people who wanted to stick with Nissan but wanted to move to an SUV had to go elsewhere because Nissan had no SUV vehicle. So they caved in and built the Murano to retain their customer. Maybe BMW is doing the same.
