Gear Knob recommendations

Hi chaps,
Any recommendations for a replacement manual gear knob?
Seen this on Amazon- Will it fit and will it be crap? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Speed-Manual-Shift-Stick-Chrome/dp/B01LXLTJQF/ref=pd_sbs_263_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=NJS4X25WWZWDD16839B7

Thanks
Nick

Storm, the only one to go for if you want the best handling gear knob. It is colder of course, but is the best weighted one around.

I don't know about the one you mention, but I would be very wary!

The ZHP is also very popular on here - I need to get around to buying one! Strangely my E46 Compact Sport came with a ZHP, so I know what I'd be getting!

Hopefully link works:- https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dautomotive&field-keywords=zhp+6+speed

Ignore the price - if you call Sopers at Lincoln and ask for a forum discount I believe the cost is more like £50 ish.

Yep got that but I think I will stay OEM.

I purchased a ZHP from Cotswold BMW, I'd recommend it. Slightly shorter but looks and feels great.

Mine was quite easy to replace. Pop it in second and give a good hard tug upwards. My gear knob popped off straight away, then Zhp slotted in! Happy Days.

Tried them both. Storm is the best option  http://www.storm-motorwerks.com/interior/bmw/shift_knobs_v1/

I'm for Storm too. I have a v1 type nob (ooh errr missus) on my e85. It really feels great in the hand, weight is perfect,-nice & heavy and looks good too. Hand made solid SS, you do get what you pay for.

+1 - simply the best. I've got the V4 and the handbrake to match. As it has the leather trim is it great on the cold days.

Had a Storm V1 in the e36, very nice but gets cold in winter, I made a little furry cover to keep my hand warm (I know, I'm a big girls blouse), now have the ZHP in the zed and love it. Both are good.

Storm all the way, best mod for £50ish shift's feel tighter the shorter shift feels so much better just my 10 cents worth

I'm very happy with my zhp. Massive improvement on the standard gearknob. I did like the look of storm one but had a chrome ball sparco type in a previous car and needed gloves in the winter
Not sure why the pic is sideways?

I've got the ZHP and its a good improvement over standard, feels better and the gear change is improved due to the extra weight of the ZHP over standard. There's a thread on here somewhere showing the weights of the standard, ZHP and the Storm Knob. The storm is heavier again than the ZHP which gives it a better shifting feel however I still prefer the feel of the shape and leathered ZHP. Its personal choice really, the Storm shifts better but is cold, not as nice a shape in the hand, not leather to feel and a little Maxpower for my tastes.
