Garmin Web Site needs update

I purchased a Garmin nuvi 660 off of eBay. Put it in the Zed, I am still waiting for a new mount, but finally got a new suction cup mount, the one that came with it was defective. :( Anyway I had an LG VX9900 Bluetooth phone and I could not get it to pair up with the Garmin successfully. It said it was paired, but the phone functions and the little phone icon did not appear on the main page, so I could not use the phone functions to make a hands free call.

I went to a local store to buy one of the few current phones that appear on the Garmin Web site that are supported. Most are older models of cell phones. I told one of the technicians at the store, I went to, that I wanted to get a new phone as the LG I had was not supported in my 660 and I needed a new phone that would. He said that is odd as we use that same phone here with most of the Garmin GPS. He went over to a display model and low and behold it paired and worked perfectly. :?

I thought OH NO!!! :headbang: I got a bad one and will have to send it back. The tech suggested that I go to the Garmin web site and download new software, which I did and now the phone works great. Completely hands free for most operations. :) So If you have a Garmin and the phone you have is a Bluetooth but does not appear on the list, try downloading new software and you may find that it is in fact supported. I can not imagine why Garmin is so far behind updating their page. :x Damn good thing I am not their manager.
