Had my Gaptech about about 2 or 3 weeks now, but have had little chance to use it in anger so to speak,
How ever on the way home from work tonight I had to pop into Asda to pick up potatoes for tea :D

On the way back to the car the sun had come out, as I got closer to the car I suddenly rememberd I had My gaptech, Scrambled around in pocket for keys, hand in pocket located the open button and Tap,,Tap,,Tap, and like magic off she went Whilst the roof opening was in process I clicked the boot open button just as I reached the car, Popped the potatoes in the boot and went to open the door and a woman sat in the passenger seat of a car sat next to me said, "that was cool"

Made my day and felt I had to share

Tell us your gaptech / reinhold moments.

yet another reason to love the z4! even better when the opposite sex appreciates it too

Ha, yes thats happened to me.

I remember the first time my girlfriend said arent you going to put the roof up when we were leaving the car, just for the roof to start going up on its own as i walked away. I think she rolled her eyes and called me a w*nker... in a loving way :D

I still find it weird that i can pop the boot while the roofs doing its thing, kinda feels like it should interfere with the operation or something.

Just dont do it too many times, get in and ......... flat battery. That's a little less cool :?

Wait till mine sees it - she knows about the springs, but she's not got a clue about this mod :P

Just tell her its a replacement for a broken part Bing, they're supposed to work like this

Much easier to get in as well. I press the button whilst the garage door is open, so everything is ready by the time I get in.

I use open 90% of the time, and close only 10% as the one touch is the one I generally use whilst getting ready to hoist myself out of the car :D

Had my Gaptech moment today - SWMBO was impressed, remarking 'that's very cool', so I've gotten away with my spur-of-the-moment-unauthorised-purchase  :driving:

Lowering the roof while approaching the car at the start of a date is priceless ;)

Ah, am loving putting the roof down when pulling away gently from the lights.... 8)
I've been guilty of doing that a couple of times to show off (and many other times just for convenience) :P

It does indeed save a LOT of time. I had an E89 for the day while my Zed was in for a service two weeks back and I did find it a tad annoying how slow the roof was. Plus they hadn't activated the remote roof operation so it had to be done sitting there at the start and end of the journey...

TBH being called "cool" by someone in the carpark at ASDA in Dunfermline ain't exactly the pinacle of cool mate :P

Was it Mrs Nosa?!

I like the sound of this advice. I may have to use it a few times over the coming months.... not sure how I can explain away the new bumpers though! :D
