G29 Emergency roof operation

HI, ive done some searching and not found much about this. I know you can operate the latching mechanism on the G29 using the tool from the kit and lifting the flap on the roof. But can you actually MOVE the roof to close it manually if there is a problem with the motor (or one of the sesnsors)?

Im going on holiday to Italy in a couple of weeks, and on our last road trip the roof glitched briefly which concerned me. It recovered after I power-cycled the car and lowered the windows manually first. Its not done it since so I hope it was just "one of those things" but if it gets stuck partly open in the back country of italy or something, i want to be sure i cant at least close it and latch it by hand to get home (or at least to a BMW garage) without needing to wait for a recovery.

Interesting, thanks. Good to know that info is in the user manual. I always keep it in the car so now i know I can refer to that in an emergency. So often functional bypass steps like that are left out of "consumer" user guides and are only in workshop manuals.

So from that i guess that manually locking the roof like that doesnt fully secure the rear section.

NOTICE When driving in the rain or on a wet road sur‐face with the convertible top locked only in thefront, water will penetrate the car's interior. There is a risk of damage to property. Do notdrive in the rain or on a wet road surface withthe convertible top locked only in the front.

Also good to know.

Hopefully its not something I will ever need to use, but the "glitch" just has a nagging concern in the back of my brain. Now I have a workaround its all good :D
