G power supercharger (infinitas) cheap

Hi everyone,

At this stage everyone has probably seen me somewhere trying to find a supercharger for cheaper than I should be lol.

Well I finally seem to be getting some progress and thought others might be interested.

I contacted mstyle to see what they have in stock, and they told me their g power kit is about 5.5k minimum regardless of which kit you're looking for. (and can end up near 10k)

I then contacted infinitas. They are teamed with g power. Bit complicated but basically one company does superchargers for specific cars and the other does the rest.

After about a week I got a reply.
I enquired about a supercharger kit for z4m, but somehow they replied with a qoute for 3.0i. Hence why its in this section.

Overall they're looking 3150 EUROS for a single kit. With group buy options of bringing kit down to just over 2800 euros.

As soon as I hear back for the 475 kit for z4m I'll let everyone know as well

Will be interested to see what price they can do a z4m kit.
Are these kits basically a g power supercharger kit then?

Good work on getting an initial price from infinitas

Quick word of advice from someone in a similar industry.

The kit costs less than 1k to make, all day long. That doesn't include development costs and assumes the producer did the wise thing and use off the shelf items, such as bearings etc. Where possible. Most development money is in the casting.

Middle men merchants like Mstyle will add around 30-40% on as a minimum. I've sourced Rotrex and Turbotechnics kits direct and got them miles cheaper than merchants offer. Going direct to the manufacturers is always a good idea.

That’s strange, it mentions the e85/86 but quotes the earlier m54 engined cars as a base power level (231ps) :?

from what i can gather thats exactly what they are! Just sold by their sister company. Something weird went on and everything was reshuffled but the products stayed the same.
Now its a funny one as you have to know which company does which kit for each car. Bit of a pain to be honest.

Thats interesting, I thought about rotrex for a while and then basically forgot about them! Might have to try that avenue too. From what i know there's only good reports and reviews of the g power kits so I presume they use high quality components.

You've a keener eye then i Rob lol. Never noticed that. Presume someone wasn't informed the e86 didn't come till after the m54 was finished 👀

These m54 rs kits have been around €3000 for 10 years or so.
This is the normal price nothing new.

This kit is only for the m54 and not suitable for the s54.

Got a reply from them. Must say they are very slow in getting back to you.

The only thing is I think she sent me group buy price. As there is a 10% indicator under the compressor.

Either way I'm fairly pleased with the price

I can't read it back in the offer, but take into account that that price is probably ex VAT and ex other import taxes (whatever those might be).

But still about €1K cheaper than an ESS kit (although that runs 8psi and this one about 6psi)

They also talk about an E46 M3 cat delete.
- do they know that you have a z4m?
- Aint that going to be a problem with MOT?

Maybe just another tuner who doesn't realise the S54 was used on more than one vehicle (e46 M3, e36 Z3M, e85 Z4MR, e86 Z4MC).

Wonder if they even know the ECU is different on a Z4M vs the e36/e46, and are they expecting to be mapping an MSS54 rather than an MSS70?

I don't consider G-power as 'Just another tuner'.
They have been in business for a very very long time and are very knowledgeable. They fabricate the superchargers themselves, no off the shelf units.
I think it's more a matter of putting out an order a bit sloppy (not uncommon for tuners....the stories I can tell you about ESS  )

I'm pretty sure that they are aware that the z4m has a different ecu. But what I dont know is if they took that into account in this offer (as they are maybe a bit sloppy in the first place)

Erm, okay!

All the kits (M54 and S54) that were bought as part of the group buy are already in the hands of their new owners...of course not all of them have been fitted yet as 'life' gets in the way sometimes :P
