Fuse box won't come out

Watched a few YouTube videos on how to access the fuse box and tried to access mine (2012 Z4 e89).

I took the trim covering off fine, and I did the screw to drop the fuse box.

It didn't drop far at all and it won't slide out either!

Has anyone else had this problem?

It is even a pain to get back in, the wiring loom now seems to be in the way and so t want to damage anything :headbang:

I couldn't see how it comes out so gave it a good yank.
It pulled of the mounting pivot, but at least it was out.
You can then see how it slides out.
But then bit of a fiddle to get the pivot lugs back in place

Also the sliding arm gets in the way of replacing a relay.
Overall another stupid design.

I’ve managed it just now . The knack I found was to put my thumb on the end of the plastic rail and then pull the box with my other hand

You do have to make sure none of the wiring bundles are fouling the box otherwise it won’t budge . I also couldn’t get it quite to the end of the rail but if it was far enough for me to be able to access what I needed

Cheers, move mine about an inch but then the roof fault I have fixed itself so going to put it all back. Where did you put this wire loom when putting it back; does it sit on the fuses itself? Mine is getting caught when closing ATM..
