Fuse box - how to slide out?

Managed to get it to drop ok

But how does it slide out on the plastic rail?

Mine is refusing to move. Reluctant to use too much brute force. Is there a knack?

I found it to be very hard to get it to pull forward, just check that there’s no cables caught and just keep pulling, I had difficulty getting mine to drop down as a bunch of wires were looped over the framing above, in the end I disconnected and rerouted them.

I was trying to do this yesterday too (posted a similar post in e89 problems). Mine won't budge either, it just will not slide out or seem to go down far enough like in the YouTube videos (most of them are left hand drive cars anyway).

I'm also scared of damaging the wiring looms so don't want to pull too hard- it is such a rediculous design!

I gave up yesterday but can't even get the box back In to place either, I have a wiring loom hanging around where that silver nut to drop it is- do you have the same and does anyone know the correct technique for positioning it back properly - paranoid about catching a wire if I do it wrong :?

Sad to say - there is no magic trick to this. It's got to go down as one of the worst fuse box designs in car history.

You reach in there, wiggle wires out of the way as best you can & pull.

That's it. It seems completely wrong, but it's the only way to do it.

I found it best to lay on my back/shoulders in the footwell , push up as hard as possible and then turn the locking screw

Thanks, where is this wire meant to go though? I can't seem to find where to get it back in, really worried about catching it when trying to jam the fuse box back up!

Getting the glove box sounds like hard work but gives you unfettered access
