Hello everyone!
I'm new to the forum, and this is my first post.
I would really appreciate it if someone could help me shed some light on the following issue(knowing that I searched the forum and google but didn't find a satisfying answer yet):
When I turn the ignition on in my 2006 3.0 si Z4, all the warning lights come on for a while and then go away normally, exept for the "check engine" light / the "yellow little engine" symbol, that never shows,as if it's not there at all.
I know for sure the light bulb is not taken out since the mentioned symbol appears and lights up when doing a cluster check through the hidden menu.
Fuse 32, which is dedicated to the ECU nunit, or the DME,and most likely responsible for the light itself, has no power going through it also, but not blown! All other fuses are ok.
The car is performing flawlessly, so I'm pretty sure the ECU/DME is functioning normally.
The car was originally purchased by the first owner new from the dealer in Beirut- Lebanon, so I don't know if it's a region/emissions standards thing(knowing that the original owner's manual of the car is missing and the pdf versions I have are either for the US spec cars or EU ones and both stipulate that the light should show up breifly/ whether SES in the US or Engine symbol in the EU or Canada).
Should I disregard the issue or is there something to worry about since I wouldn't be notified by the light if an emission problem occurs?Or maybe this is intended by BMW in some markets?
Many thanks in advance.
