Just on my way to pick her up after a full sevice/ inspection 2 and the CDV taken off. Am i going to feel a massive diffrence or is it more subtle?

Was planning on polishing and useing a sealent but alas the heavens have opened :x

I'm interested to hear your thoughts on the CDV delete once you pick it up as I'm seriously considering getting mine done

same here..... CDV is still on mine and its 1 of them jobs i keep thinking about but just havnt got around to yet...

Me too - something I am considering as the gear change is quite tricky. I think I've found the sweet spot for the seat position and now use just ankle flexion to operate the clutch which gives me the best control ... but still be very interested to hear how you get on

So stright away i noticed the clutch is lighter. Then setting off and going through first second third is smooth. Haven't tried it going quick yet as the rain is coming down hard.

In reference to extra clutch wear from my reading up on it it reduces wear. The cdv allows the clutch to slip as it realises it slowly. What it does do is add the risk of dumping the clutch and damaging the drive train. But as long as you dont hold it at max revs at dump the clutch you will be fine.

In relation to the service plugs came in at £107. That surprised me a bit.

I was going to get my Cdv put back in next week as I've had it removed 2 years ago and remember not noticing any difference.

I'm fed up with the jolting as I let the clutch out in 1st and 2nd gear and wondered if putting it back in would help ? I've tried various methods of changing gear to make a smooth gear change. It's only smooth at high revs.

Ive found that jolting has gone now ive got the cdv out. Most people seam to find this after its out.

Alas the car has gone back to the garage now. The rear brakes were smoking driving above 50mph. Diddnt feel stuck on but they have adjusted the handbrake.

Right now mine is at the bottom of my hill in the garage also being serviced and CDV deleted.

It's due an Inspection 2 on time but not mileage. I took the decision to simply change the air, oil & cabin filters plus replace the spark plugs. New brake fluid, gearbox oil plus discs and pads all round next month. I also asked him to check the car for anything else that needs doing. That to me is an Inspection 2 for a fraction of the cost. Labour is £48/hr and I'm hoping for 2hrs or less. Oil was £56 for 12l of Shell Helix Ultra, filters by Mann (same as BMW use for OEM) at £36 and NGK Iridium plugs for £63.

Pending further work that's £225 for now.

Looking forward to no delay valve. :-)

Hope they fix your car quickly.

All sorted. One thing i would say about the clutch is theres a slight and i mean very slight vibration through the pedal.

Only 1hr labour so just £177 for a major service with no other problems reported.

Discs and pads will be c.£250 for Pagid all round and they should be coated as they are on the set I've just bought for our e91.

Clutch does indeed feel lighter, which makes sense as you're not pushing fluid through a pin hole anymore.

Ugh mine was £530. But £200 of that was the passenger window motor being changed and then the sparks costing £107. I have zero mechanics skills so no chance to do any of it myself. How you finding the gear changes?

All I did myself was the air and cabin filters, I guarantee you can do those even with no mechanic skills.

Clutch has rather a long bite for my taste and I've only driven it less than a mile up the hill at slow speed but it is smoother. Just does what your foot does, nothing more nothing less. I'm sure on the open road it'll feel heaps better as I could really feel it bringing the plates together slowly on both up and down changes. Will report back when I've driven it more but first I need to work out if it needs more oil as it's only taken 5l before saying it's full...

Setting off and the 1-2 change should be much smoother

is there any negatives to doing thing Bing? extra ware on the clutch etc? :driving:

As said above - no, it actually reduces wear by removing it. Unless you develop a habit of dumping the clutch at high revs and feck the drive train, which is what it is supposed to protect against.
