Fuel Tank Door Doesn't Lock and Broken Glovebox

Has anyone experienced any issues regarding the Fuel Tank Door lock? I assumed that mine locked with the car but realised the other day that when the car is locked it still opens - it seems the locking mechanism has fallen out as there is a hole where I imagine this would pop out from and lock the door.

Also, while my glovebox itself isn't broken, the button you pull to open it fell off. I realised that the small plastic cylinders that held this in place with the rest of the button had fallen out so if I were to take this to a BMW dealership, would this be an easy fix as the button assembly simply unscrews from the rest of the glovebox?

Thanks for all your help.

Never heard of the fuel filler issue, but the glovebox problem is well known if you do a search on here.

there was a thread the other day about the fuel filler cap. a few people have had it break but seems quite easy to fix

The glovebox is an easy fix. You should find the roll pins that the handle pivots on have just worked themselves back, allowing the handle to fall away. Unscrew the rest of the handle assembly from the glovebox lid. Hold the handle in place and push the roll pins back into postion.

Had that problem of the glovebox catch falling off myself - there was a little spring too that managed to dissapear.

I checked with the dealer, a replacement handle / catch is around £30, probably an easy DIY job...I've been meaning to get mines sorted.

The glovebox easily falls by its own due to over greased retaining pins.

Do not let dealers do it for you as this will be a recurring problem if you don't check or correct yourself.

Open glove box, unscrew glove box lock (2 pcs)

Remove grease from retaining pins and replace and realign retaining pins.

Screw lock back together. Do note that you need to hold the outer handle while you screw back the lock
