fuel stabilizer question

hey guys,

preparing to put my z4 away for winter.. was wondering what kind of fuel stabilizer you guys use or can recommend from places like canadian tire?

That's going to be a tricky one to answer as this is a largely UK forum. Have you tried the bimmerpost forums?
 
Mines being tucked away this weekend until next March and never used any fuel additives. I would imagine fuel wouldn't deteriorate any over a few months. I've never had any problems after 5 months of storage.

Sta-bil is very popular in North America. I use it in small engines, it does seem to help. I don't put anything in the Zed for the 5 months of storage. I fill it with fuel beforehand and drive it about 30 minutes every 4-5 weeks. No other special measures. Going on the 4th winter of ownership and never had any issues in the spring.

Fuel stabiliser wouldn't hurt, but I'm not convinced it's necessary for larger engines.
