I am in the process of selling my Z4, so have the Intravee II, alpine KCA-420i and all necessary cables up for sale. If you're not familiar with the intravee, it's probably the best iPod integration with the Z4's Sat Nav.

Asking £SOLD

Also have a spare iPod classic 120GB for £SOLD

Available for collection from Bristol (BS9)

I paid slightly less, incl. P&P.

But you are a tight Scottish git :D

I am indeed :P

Looking on eBay, the price of that iPod classic above is very good - looks like they are being pitched at least twice that price on there.

Are these easy to fit? Also can you still use the 6 CD changer if you have this fitted?

Yes, quite easy to fit, lots of fitting threads on here - even easier if you have a dedicated iPod that you can leave in the boot (mine is fixed on top of the battery with velcro), bit more awkward if you want to run the iPod cable through to the cabin

No, you lose the CD changer as the connector is plugged into the Intravee - but, if you've got an iPod connected, why would you use the CD changer (the in-dash CD player still works for the odd CD that you haven't ripped yet)

This is currently fitted to a DSP amp, so can't see why there should be any issues. If you're unsure, strip back the carpet on the back wall of the boot and see what cables are there.

My iPod was located in the cubby hole between the seats. There is just space to squeeze the iPod cable between the CD changer and Sat Nav drive.

iPod is now sold.

Just plug it in. I have DSP and zero problems with it

Might be a problem with pre face lifts with DSP though as the connections are different on the CD chnger IIRC.

Apparently randomly down to the specific amp model installed by BMW around that time so some may work without DSP adapter while others won't.

It's down to the CD changer wiring present...

(3 pin male, 6 pin male) - You do not need the additional DSP adapter.
(3 pin male, round coaxial cable) - You need the additional DSP adapter.
(3 pin male, 6 pin male, round coaxial cable) - You probably don't need the additional DSP adapter but you can't be sure until you install.

I bought the adapter before my install as a precaution as I did not want to end up with a half finished job on the day. Turns out I didn't need it so I have a DICE DSP adapter you can buy if you like!

Easiest way is to check what connections you have before hand. Easy enough. Lift up the rear carpet on the bulk head, with a torch... have a look!
