Front Wheel Bearing?

The front left wheel of my car is making a distinctive "whish whish whish" sound of a bearing going bad. The faster I drive the faster frequency and applying brakes does not change it.

I'm assuming that the bearings are sealed/non-serviceable, however do they come as a part of the hub assembly or do they get changed individually?

How difficult are they to replace?

Done this one disc off to get at bearing, new one on,stright forward job, bearing is sold as own unit. not worth trying to service as the bearings must have a flat spot,if it is bearings.

Looks like it is just the rotor dragging in spots. I picked the car up tonight and the "whish" sound is in very distinctive spots on the rotation (can mark the rotor and noise occurs at same location/marks). I'll pull the rotor this weekend just to be sure (if no rotor = no noise, bearing = good).

If for some reason it does turn out to be the bearing, it doesn't sound to be much of an issue replacing it.

Question, IF one bearing is bad am I better of doing the pair (left and right) at the same time? My car has 115K miles on the clock.

If it ant broke dont fix it up to you easy job piece of mind!!!! dont think they are expensive, 8)
