Front wheel bearing torque

Hi all, I've been looking for the torque setting for the front wheel bearing nut. I've found lots of different settings on the tinterweb, but nothing conclusive.

Can anyone tell me the proper torque required for this?

Brill, thinking of doing mine myself - which bearing did you buy? Do you need a bearing puller? Where did you find instructions? :thumbsup:

Here is the bearing I'm using.

You shouldn't need a bearing puller to remove the old bearing as it should slide off. The only issue you might have is the bearing housing being stuck to the break disk. If the bearing is stuck on, then some gentle persuasion should be ok. Just don't scratch the stub axle itself. The last one I did was pretty gone but slid right off.

The modern wheel bearings don't have the rain protector and don't need the original one that came with the car. It's a small piece of round metal that curves inwards that sits behind the bearing assembly.

The king nut is 46mm so you need a huge socket. I found on at Halfrauds for £50

The torque wrench needs to be able to do up to 290nm which Is quite heavy duty. Again Halfrauds sell one for £89

I'm just waiting on the bearing to arrive, but should be doing the work on Saturday. I will take some pictures as I go through the process and write it up on here either Saturday night or Sunday.
