Front Struts

Greetings all,
I took my Z4 to the shop to have the suspension checked out and was told I needed front struts. I took it to another shop and they told me the struts were good :? So I came home took my front tires off to get a look for myself. The bump stops were the only thing i could see that looked like they needed to be replaced. Pictures attached what do you think?

Thing is, you cannot tell how good the dampers are until you dismantle the strut. Judging by the rust I would guess they are pretty old. Take a look at the top mounts. Any sign of cracking off the rubber?
If you have no evidence that the struts have ever been changed then you probably should do them.
New dampers, top mounts, bump stops and the clamp bolts on the hub. If the springs are ok you can reuse those and the rubber dust covers.
