Front speakers upgrade

I've was thinking about putting some co-ax speakers into the doors as I've only got the 6 speaker setup.
But then I came across these http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/14886.html which look they would do the job nicely.
I've had jbl stuff before and been happy. Anyone got any comments?

I'm in the same position. From what I have read, the door speaker is a 3-hole fitting, so it may take some fabrication or drilling to make a 4-hole aftermarket speaker fit.

Door speakers are 4" shallow fit.
See my write up Write Up Here for more information than you'll actually need but it does have pictures and details about the front doors.

Those vibe lite airs will fit since they are very shallow, I have some in my garage hanging around.
To be honest with you though, if you're not changing anything else, you should see if you can get some oe speakers of fleabay from one of the zeds that are being parted out, save you some buck and you only need to wire them into the tweets. the tweets have an inline resistor so you don't need to worry about a crossover; and they will sound on par with the other speakers in the car so you wont mess up the acoustics.
The door speakers are exactly the same as the 4" ones behind your head/seat so either will do, in fact here's a link to some for around £15 Ebay Link that's £30 a pair and £5 for some speaker wire and you're golden.
They fit straight in no mods or extra parts needed, just remove the blanking plate and stick them in.

Can't say I don't spoil you :P

I didn't realise the rears were the same as the front doors. This is good news :-)

If i move the rears to the front doors and get some co-ax 4" to go in where the rears were it should sound good and work out cheaper too.

That would work, but due to the proximity of the speakers to your head, you would hear the tweets from the coax above anything else; you really don't want a coax behind your head trust me, I've tested that approach too; it can depend on the quality of the co-ax though. the option I provided is the cheapest, simplest and most effective way of adding speakers to the front, You needn't go anywhere near the rears and mess up the balance.

But it's only my opinion...
