Front Number Plate Location? Lower Grill?

Hi all,

I'm just getting my Aero bumper painted. I've purchased a shorter (13") number plate as I have a personalised plate with 5 characters...

I don't like the black standard number plate holder so it's not being refitted...

Question is.... Can I mount the number plate on the aero bumper lower centre grill without causing any cooling issues? 8)

Has this already been done? Can't find a post/pic anywhere that shows a plate mounted on the lower grill....

So looking forward to the bumper being fitted along with the rear spoiler

I wouldn't ever obstruct the grille with a plate. The radiator needs the designed leverl of airflow and cooling for a reason.

Longer term issue ....good point The cooling is a bit sensitive on the BM motors

Just a quick one ... Do the original headlamp washer covers fit with the aero bumper or are they a different type?

They are the same, I snapped a clip on one though so waiting to get a replacement. It was a bit fidely on my own, could do with 2 pairs of hands for the washer caps

Brilliant (not that you snapped one ) I'm glad I don't have to purchase anything else, maybe a few beers for the second pair of hands

I feel that the number plate will ruin the front oh well .... still undecided where to put it?

1. Original position?
2. On lower Grill ( yes may cause cooling issues)?
3. Buy a sticker number plate .... maybe for the bonnet?
4. Leave it off and take the flak!?
5. Fit the orginal carrier and use my old plate (No..... not happening!)

I wouldn't risk running without a front number plate around here, the police will use any excuse to pull you over

That looks great.

Possible down side. The oil cooler is right behind that grill on the M. Not sure for other Zeds. But I would not put my plate there.

I'm going to modify the left and right grills during the winter months so I get air flow throughout the front (currently these are kinda blanked off grills)
