Front lights - Condensation woe

Ok, on the fog lights they all go like that eventually, very bad design that lets moisture in, which then corrodes the silver metallic paint inside. I believe that some people have managed to get them replaced if their car is under warranty, but IIRC they have had to work their way through the 'good will' route.
The headlights are easier - if you take the top inspection hatch off in the wheel well (best to point the wheel on the side you want to access out, not in,trust me on this :wink: ) you will see the back cover of the headlight. This has a rubber gasket round it on the inside that seals the light unit. Over time the rubber hardens and degrades - mine were also well stuck on and looked like they had never been removed. This lets moisture in. Best thing to do is get two new covers for the backs of the lights (they are not expensive from a dealer, though I can't remember how much). Then, in the dry when the car is dry, take the back cover off the light and blow a hair dryer in there on hot for about 10 mins, moving it around to get the hot air in everywhere. When the condensation is gone blow cold air in there for a few minutes to get the moist warm air out then bang the new back on. Did both of mine almost two years ago now, and had no issues since.
