Front light washers

Has the forum changed ? Sure it used to have a red car . Looks all weird now.

Anyhow.....

Is there anyway to pop up the head light washers to clean them on e89. They don't appear to be issuing water !

If they are the same as E85/6 ones the only way is to slide something under the cover and pull them up, but be careful to avoid snapping the clips.

But before doing that I'd check the condition of the filter on the pump in the reservoir as they often get blocked by algae type gunge. If you remove the pump you can clean the filter and flush the reservoir out. If you do end up doing that it's best to only use one brand of screenwash afterwards to ensure it doesn't happen again.

As said the input filter in the bottom of the washer reservoir is probably gummed up..seen a few where only removing it and soaking it in bleach to get the buggies out..

Also, the pump could have died. The screen and headlight systems have separate pumps, fed off a single reservoir. You can swap the pumps over, or just disconnect the tubing to see if any water comes out.

NB The headlights only wash about one in ten screen washes, and ONLY when the lights are turned on.
