Hi Guys

Recently just purchased a second hand front bumper from a fellow forum user and will be sending it off for re spray/fitting in the next week or two. Currently i have the horrible black plastic registration plate surround and the new bumper doesnt, i was wondering if anyone has done away with this and just used velcro for fixing the plate on how does it look etc...and pictures would be appreciated as id just have the body shp smooth it off whilst spraying.

my bumper is exactly like you describe yours.

i just run my plate in the grill under where it normally is. but then iv got a much shorter plate too.

il get a photo later for you.

I had my M bumper like that - just stuck the plate to the front with some 3M dbl sided tape (well i had no plate for a while.. but thats another story!)

If getting it reprayed get them to remove the plate bracket and plastic weld the holes.

Yes ive always found the plastic surround a bit bulky and looking out of place! i think ill have the body shop smooth it all over spray it then velcro the plate if i could see pictures though to cement my decision would be handy!

Thanks guys so far!

Not really a fan of shortened plates but I like that.

Are you planning on getting those holes filled in (oooh arr!) Gaz? I was wondering what it'd look like on mine the other day.

YES YES YES!!!! they look alot better IMO. Now to decide to fit to the lower grill or just to the bumper atfer smoothing off but these have helped me decide to 100% smooth it off and see how i go from there, dont have a private plate so i guess a short plate is a no go for me :(
