Front arch liners-not a tight fit?

Hi all, taking a real close look inside the front wheel arches, ive noticed a slight kink on my passenger side one(im hoping its only been removed in the past to get behind a door ding) -but comparing it to my drivers side one-that one does not look a tight fit-(sat looking at the wheel, the arch liner can be moved towards you)-until i can get the time/budget to get a new arch liner is there anything i can do to the kink as there is a slight gap showing where the metal lip is?-waxoyl,grease similar to prevent water trouble?-thoughts apreciated.

I think you should sell your Z4 and buy an old nail, you won't give a toss then.

I have one for sale if your interested for £500, full of dents already, diesel so nice and noisy (just turn the radio up more) and 53mpg.

Sorry mate  -just worrying because i want this to last a few years and dont want to see the dreaded rust worm like on my e46

not seen or heard of any rusty Z4's yet, just keep it all clean under there. They are not water tight eve if they are a good fit.

Thats one of my many dilemmas mate-to give it a good clean under the arches surely a hosepipe is needed, but to me regularly using a hose round there is a bad idea isnt it?(spraying water into the nooks and crannies)-i was thinking of smearing vaseline or similar along the inside edge?-to try to keep water at bay-bad idea?

I reach into the archliners with a sponge an give them a wash avery time I wash the car, and rinse the car , wheels and archliners with a watering can , when I dress the tyres ( autoglym instant tyre dressing ) I also 'dress' the liners , keeps them looking black and clean for longer .

If there is a kink in the liner it may come out with a heat gun , many plastics have a 'memory' of the shape it was originnaly moulded to , may be worth a try

Cheers Gerry -worth a try-smearing vaseline etc to try to stop water getting between liner and metal lip a bad idea then?

All kinds of crud would just stick to the vasaline , the autoglym tyre dressing does repel water , however it doesnt last that long , try the heat gun / hair dryer on it an see if the kink comes out.
