Off to France Germany and Switzerland in a couple of weeks. As any european traveller will tell you the pay stations on the payage are not Z4 friendly unless you are over 2 mtrs tall ( I am not nor the other half) What I discovered after my last trip was that you can buy the tag for the drive through channel , The costs for your trip are then paid via D/Debit .If you are travelling through France its well worth getting one saves all the hassle of getting out or hitching up to reach the c/c slot. Also as most vehicles seem to stop and pay every time you are not held up in the queues waiting to pay. Great if your travelling during the french holiday month.

I drove to Paris last weekend in my Disco and all the access points were too low !

Seems it won't fit sports cars or SUVs.

Maybe they are designed for the French car manufacturers...... :D

if you want to try the tag system. Check out the Bip & Go website. Its in English and French. Very easy to set up. Here is the link to the site. https://www.bipandgo.com/en

Brilliant - was planning to take a long trip from England through France and the Swiss Alps - does the tag system only cover French tolls?

As far as I am aware only tolls in France . I have a direct account with Sanef who control the payage tolls rather than bipandgo . "You pays your money and takes a choice". You can check out there costs and service at http://www.saneftolling.co.uk

I used this a couple of years back when travelling in France - very convenient & very little, if no queues.
