UPDATED WITH MORE FINISHED PHOTOS
Well seeing as its getting disscussed i thought i would post up my latest correction.
This is the third of our cars to be corrected. Its a 2006 Freelander Sport. We have had it from new but between myself and body shops a few swirls have been picked up on the way.
As the car lives outside i would have to correct, seal and apply the LSP before i finished any session! For a change ive opted for the Zaino range to seal and protect the paint.
Wash Stage:
No Photos but im planning a more in depth clean soon anyway.
• Washed with Sonus Mitt and CG Maxi Suds
• Rinsed with filtered water from the 11L Resin Vessel and dried with CG Miracle Dryer where needed.
• Washed Arches and Wheel inners and outers using various brushes
• Clayed with Sonus Green Clay
Interior Clean:
• Vacummed Carpets and Mat
• Wiped over Dash and Door cards with damp cloth
• Cleaned and fed leather seats with LTT Ultra Foam Cleaner and LTT Ultra Protect
Photo time:
Correction Stage:
• After a little trial the paint corrected nicely with Megs G220, Sonus SFX-2 White Pad and Menzerna 3.02 Intensive Polish following up with the Red Finishing Pad and 85RD Final Finish where required. Or incertain cases a 2nd hit with the 3.02 was required.
Friday:
By the time i had cleaned the car and got set up i knew i would only have 2-3 hours this evening so I set myself the bonet and front wings.
Quick Check, not to bad...

Average readings.

A little thin here.

All set up with Sonus SFX-2 White Pad and Menzerna 85RD Final Finish,

3.02 was best though.

Changed to the 4” Spot pads which are great for the little bits and correction is faster IMO

Great correction

Then Sealed and protected with Zaino... more about that later.
Sunday:
The weather was perfect to start with slightly over cast and a little breeze! Then came the heatwave ... followed by a lovely vest tan yet again!
All taped up

Before Swirls pretty bad after my recent bodyshop visit!

Looking much better!

Second side:

Seal and Wax:
• Sealed paint with Zaino ZAIO via a Zaino cotton applicator Pad
• Really looking forward to this I Applied the Z2 via Zaino Cotton applicator Pad slightly dampened with Z6.

I have to say i struggled with the ZAIO because i really didn’t want to put too much on and spoil the finish, i think i will enjoy it next time when im just topping up.

But the Z2........... Wow it really does leave a strong protected layer! I couldn’t manage to leave finger prints on it with just one layer!
Finishing Touches:
• Dressed Tyres with CG New Look Trim Gell
• Windows Cleaned
Finish Job:

Night Reflection!

Total Time 12-14 Hours
Ive still got to finish off the roof, then get more layers of Z2 then Z8 and try out my new GTech C4 on the endless amount of plastic trim so ill update photos and add the GTech C4 review.
Well when i started this crazy OCD induced plan i wanted to get all three or our cars corrected and doing it myself seemed the most cost effective way! How wrong was I.... lol Very costly, very time consuming and WELL WELL WORTH IT. Even the wife commented on the strange glass like finish on the freelander after i finished, she uses the terms beading and slickness too.
Updated Final shots with another coat of Z2 and finished off with Z8

Full sun and nice flake pop!

Trouble!

Finally
The little one is coming on well

Cheers
