I have just noticed a patch of fraying on my roof near the driver side window. I don't think it has been there long, however on closer inspection I noticed that when the roof opens and closes, this patch catches on the rubber seal running around the body between the roof and the body, causing the fraying of the fabric.
It has resulted in the rubber actually splitting more or less behind the driver seat, although you can't see it unless the roof is in the process of closing.
If I press the roof if a little as it is closing and "hide" the offending patch of roof by folding it underneath, it clears the rubber seal comfortably, as it does on the passenger side meaning there is no further rubbing.
I know I have seen threads about the roof folding incorrectly previously, but not one specifically dealing with this problem. Does anyone have any fixes for ensuring it folds the necessary way each time, rather than me pressing it into shape when it does open?
I fear it may worst case be a replacement roof when it eventually frays right through, or have to spend my life folding the roof as it closes. Neither ideal. The alternative is to force the fold enough times to "retrain" the roof to close it the right way.
