FOUND: First Aid Box + Bracket + Screws

As the title says I am looking to add a little extra storage space to the car as doing a :driving: European road trip (with the Mrs.) so need as much space as I can get as the boot is going to be full of all the crap she is going to insist on bringing along.

I have had a look online and it seems the boxes can be had pretty cheap (£10-£15) but the mount bracket is looking a bit more difficult so drop me a PM if you have one taking up space. If someone just has the spare bracket then I would consider that although easier to get it all from the same place.

Cheers!

just purchased one off a forum member and once arrived and installed ill be looking for a 2nd, in case you didn't know they are universal so as your after as much storage as possible for your trip, maybe try and source 2 and have 1 under each seat  (altho im doing myself out of finding one in a few weeks once im happy with my 1st one lol)

  Yeah I saw that posted already but thanks for posting, definitely useful for other members to know! I only noticed last weekend I have the passenger side one so it seems like wasted space under the drivers seat not having another one in, think everyone should do this mod, just wait til I got mine before you all go out looking for one  already missed out on 2 that sold before I got in there

yea i wasn't sure if i should post in-case all the 2nd hand 1s get sold before i start looking lol but more people know the better i suppose, its what were all here for

Do dealers not stock these?

Good Idea

Just made a quick call to Sopers and cost with forum discount is £15.77 (box) + £21.97 (bracket) + £4.06 (screws) = £41.80

Its the bracket and screws that are the stinger, was hoping for £20 ish for the lot think £40 is a bit steep but if no one has a spare I may have to do down the dealer route

yea there also on ebay etc but like said above, why pay £40+ when u can pay £15-£20 off here

That is a bit steep, the bracket is listed as $8 on RealOEM - maybe they're becoming short in supply? All well and good that they go for £20 on here but if there aren't any available you've not got much choice - depends how much you want one I suppose.

What is the location of the fist aid kit, I think mine is under the seat, the reason I ask, is that I have 2 plastic brackets on the inside of my boot lid, they look like something should slide onto them ??

The E46 first aid boxes and brackets also fit , I had a spare bracket on the cloth seats I purchased for my Compact which I fitted to my drivers seat

The brackets on the boot lid are for the wind deflector

Cant believe how much they have gone up in price!

I got a couple from soper back in 2010 and paid £20 for the lot (and got the screws for free)

Sold 4 on here now since selling my Z (sold 3 back in jan!) for £15 posted so i would definetly hold out for one... Most members here must have 2 now who can remove them when they move on...

Let me check with Harry Fairbairn. Always found they're the cheapest over on bmwforums.info.

I managed to do a deal on one from an independent BMW parts specialist (breaker I thuinkk) who just deal in second hand BMW parts, don't want to start recommending them until I receive the order but for £23 shipped for the box bracket and screws, and with the email communication so far I am happy, so once I have the box I will post the details

The prices on realoem are generally well out of date. It used to be possible to check UK RRP online at http://www.cooper-bmw-parts.co.uk/ but the online parts section has been down for months.

My Box bracket and screws arrived today £23 all in! :) Happy with the order and the service from the company so here are the contact details

BEEMER BITS 02882 246496
They are based in Northern Ireland but based on shipping cost and delivery time they were as good as many mainland UK dealers

They also have an ebay store (how I found them)
