Ahh Fairenough, yeah some bags don't squash down small enough, I think mine end up about 2inch when aired out on the front. I could get it lower but I don't want to tuck my rim

Try UAS airhouse bags http://www.universalairsuspension.com/store2/catalog/universal-suspension-house-universal-p-59.html

My front airs down to the ground. Its just my rears that are a problem. Whats weird is the guy I bought them from was able to air out his rear most of the way. He said he had fender work done since he was running much bigger and wider wheels but I don't see how that helped.
Are those the bags you're on?

Can't remember exactly which bags I have on the rear but yeah that's the make I have on mine. I have no issues with airing out even on the standard 255/35/18 rear tyres I can air out down to the rim.
I have 9.5s now with 225/40 on the rear and have no issues airing out fully
Must be something up with how the bag is sitting or something

Hmm, interesting. I'll definitely have to look into them. Thanks for your help! :)
You wouldn't happen to know anyone selling a hard top, would you?

Markplant .. Thank you :) & yes I am located in south Florida. Theres not many z4s out here. I'm the only one at the local car meets

indeep75 thank you very much :D I literally just purchased an M front bumper right now so I just gotta get that wrapped and put on

Just spotted your calendar entry and thought I'd check the newbies thread, and here you are :)
I will join everyone else in welcoming you to the forum; you've got a lovely unique looking Zed there and sounds like you have more plans for it  :driving:

Marlon thank you so very much :D Many more plans indeed. Just picked up an m front bumper last night and dropped off my interior trim pieces to get hydro dipped :)

stuartC Thank you! :)

I've always wondered how cars with such extreme suspension actually drive and to what extent it changes (ruins?) the handling?

Not my cup of tea but totally support the right of people to do what they like to their cars!

Lambpie Well actually when I was on BC Racing coilovers it improved the ride quality a lot. Im on Airrex suspension now and it actually handles just like my coilovers did. You are able to adjust the dampening to tweak the ride comfortability to where you want it.
The only time the ride doesnt feel too great if is I air up way too much. Then it gets a little shaky.

Thanks zfourgasm!
Whenever I've seen cars like yours with really lowered suspension and wheel camber they're always travelling slowly so I'd assumed it was about the looks rather than the dynamics!

Well Lambpie some people do have their car ignorantly low where they shouldn't be driving it lol. When I was on coilovers I was extremely low but Z4s have everything tucked away so nicely so I wasn't risking damaging anything. Now with air suspension I can drive as low or high as I want so I don't have to be extra cautious anymore. No more dodging speed bumps :yeah:
Air suspension is definitely the way to go if you want to be low without having to worry about where you drive or what you may encounter. It's just a plus that I didn't have to sacrifice the comfortability of my ride.
Oh and the camber didn't make any difference for me either. But I have seen some cars with CRAZY camber and I am sure they feel the difference in their ride quality.
