Adamski - The process of adding a turbo would probably result in replacement of the manifold anyway so unfortunately your point is invalid.

option two is take it to a shop for a V8. i know mannhart racing in Germany can, ( they done the Hornisse (wasp) v10 Z4 ). but they will not be cheap i guess. otherwise search a UK shop witch is know to BMW and engine swaps.
i wouldn't swap in a 3.0 or an z4M S54 as then all the logic is gone, and you'd be beter of buying a 3.0 or Z4M.
